Technical communication, as a profession, situates one to utilize writing, visuals, and multimedia to turn complex, technical concepts into something everyone can understand. As a graduate of Kennesaw State University (KSU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Communication with a concentration in Data Analysis & Presentation, I have a diverse range of technical communication skills: technical writing and editing, data analysis, presentation design, and brand development.

A Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication merges technical knowledge and information design with a focus on understanding audience. The degree contains coursework focused in theoretical, practical, and technical foundations necessary for becoming an effective technical communicator. I do more than create guides and write online help manuals—I’m able to bridge the gap between users and technology.

In the fall of 2017, I received the Outstanding Student award from the department of Technical Communication and Interactive Design (TCID) in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at KSU. This is a highly prestigious honor given to only one student in each degree-granting program who has distinguished her/himself in the major field of study and in extracurricular, civic, work, and/or family contexts. I was honored to accept the award.
